WHITEWATER FALLS

Whitewater Falls is actually a series of waterfalls and cascades on the Whitewater River in both North and South Carolina. In a distance of 2.4 miles, the river drops 1,071 feet in elevation. The pictures here are of upper Whitewater Falls located in North Carolina which is 411 feet high. Lower Whitewater Falls, in South Carolina, is 386 feet high. It is important to note that this, and other mountain waterfalls, is a very dangerous place to climb the rocks due to mist and algae. There have been many people seriously hurt and even killed at this falls.
