SOCO FALLS

Soco Falls is located 10 miles east of Cherokee, NC just off Route 19 and are on Cherokee Nation lands. Soco is actually a double waterfall and there is a recently built viewing platform across from the taller of the two falls. To get to the viewing platform there is a short trail that begins at a break in the guardrail. There is also a steep trail near the start of the viewing platform that leads to the top of the shorter of the two falls. This trail is not maintained and is very slippery. If you do venture to the top of that waterfall, DO NOT enter the creek above this or any other waterfalls. Many people have been seriously injured or killed by making that mistake
