Pigeon Forge, a mere 5.5 miles from Gatlinburg, separated by a small stretch of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and connected by a section of the Foothills Parkway, will, on occasion, be used as a base of operations for our tours. These two cities are truly a vacationer’s paradise. Pigeon Forge is home to more than 300 outlet and specialty stores, theaters and dinner theaters that offer some of the finest comedy, musical performances and shows of various types found anywhere in the United States. It is also home to Dollywood Theme Park and Splash Country Water Park, two zip lines and the only zorbs in the U.S. (as of 2009). Pigeon Forge hosts many car and bike shows throughout the spring, summer and fall. There are many museums, including an Elvis Museum, Law Enforcement Museum, Dinosaur Museum, Helicopter Museum, and my favorite, a Muscle Car Museum that has an unbelievable selection of high performance cars from the 60s and 70s. In addition, there are numerous parades, festivals and celebrations throughout the year. One of my favorites is “String Time in the Smokies”, which features some of the finest bluegrass musicians in the country paying tribute to the music of the Smoky Mountains with free concerts in Patriot Park in August.

Come experience some down-home southern hospitality.
