MINGO FALLS (Big Bear Falls)
Mingo Falls is located on Cherokee tribal land in North Carolina. In the Cherokee language, these falls are called Big Bear Falls. The falls cascades two hundred feet almost straight down. To get to see the falls, one must climb 161 stone steps that lead to a short path and a wooden bridge that crosses the river at the base of the falls. There are benches for those that need a rest when climbing the stairs. If you can handle the climb, the view is worth it.
