BALD RIVER FALLS

Bald River Falls, located in the Cherokee National Forest, is another of my favorite waterfalls. One big plus is that this is another one of the falls that doesn’t require any hiking to get to. The falls are said to be an 80’ to 100’ feet drop in elevation, depending on where you get your information. There is a pool deep enough to swim in at the base of the falls and many people take advantage of that during the summer. This, as well as all waterfalls is also another one that you have to be very careful of climbing on the rocks near the falls (climbing rocks at any of the falls is NOT recommended by us for your safety). They had to airlift someone in the spring of 2009 after a fall here.
